German dressage trainer Jürgen Koschel became the recipient of the PSI Lifetime Achievement award handed out during the 2021 PSI Auction in Ankum, Germany, on 11 December 2021.

The P.S.I. Awards are a coveted honour for important personalities in equestrian sport. This year's winner in the Lifetime Achievement category has rendered outstanding services as a rider and also as a trainer.

During his active career of 25 years, Jürgen Koschel presented more than one hundred horses in competition and collected more than 900 victories and placings — from tests for young riding horses to Grand Prix. Since 1997, Koschel has also been passing on his knowledge as a trainer: The Olympic Games in Tokyo were already the eighth time that he stood on the sidelines as a trainer. Among others, he worked for the dressage teams of the Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Spain and South Korea.

His former student, Olympic rider Kristina Bröring-Sprehe presented the P.S.I. Award with a wonderful laudation during the sit-down dinner and auction, which replaced the tradition PSI Charity Ball due to covid hygiene restrictions.
