Stud Stiekema in Edewecht/Jeddeloh II (GER) has availability for horse owners to have their young stock reared in a professional, horse-friendly equestrian facility.

Anyone still looking for a five-star rearing facility for their weanlings is in luck. There are still a few places available.

Experience and Professionalism

In the scenic and climatically appealing Ammerland region, conveniently located between the northern German cities of Oldenburg and Bremen, youngsters can grow up on 80 hectares of prime pastureland, perfectly cared by Marcus Stiekema and his wife Claudia Wolf-Stiekema.

The couple bring a great expertise in young horse rearing and mare management to the table. Marcus comes from a respected breeding family and, as a horse manager and insemination technician, has further expanded his experience at renowned farms in his home country, the Netherlands, as well as in Great Britain and Germany. Claudia, a trained bank clerk and business economist, is a successful show jumper up to advanced (S) level. Both are also highly successful breeders themselves.

A Heart for Breeding

For example, Emelie van den Mirania Stam, who was born on their farm, won gold at this year's U25 German Championships in Riesenbeck/GER and silver at Germany's U25 Show Jumping Cup at the CHIO Aachen/GER under the young Johanna Beckmann.

"The foundations for the future are clearly laid during rearing. That's why we set such high standards for our work and really look after every weanling and every young horse individually," says Marcus Stiekema, explaining the all-inclusive package at Stiekema Stud.

All-Inclusive Package

During the summer months, the horses, divided into small groups, have access to around 70 hectares of consolidated pastureland directly adjacent to the farm.

In winter, spacious, bright freestall barn and weatherproof paddocks also guarantee optimal conditions. And when it comes to feed, only the best is good enough.

High-quality haylage and the best straw are produced on site, and ideally pre-mixed feed is sourced from a well-known feed mill in the region.

Experience, care and tact – these are the hallmarks of the daily work with young dressage and show jumping horses at Stiekema Stud. "We are very proud that many renowned customers and stallion owners entrust us with their valuable young horses for rearing year after year," says Claudia Wolf-Stiekema happily.
