Jens Trabjerg Receives 2024 Lis Hartel Memorial Trophy

Danish horse show organizer Jens Trabjerg became the recipient of the Lis Hartel Memorial Award at the 2024 Danish Dressage Championships in Vallensbaek on 26 May 2024.

Trabjerg was presented with the silver platter by Lis Hartel's granddaughter Nicole Siesbye Suhr and HRH Princess Benedikte.

"He is the driving force for bringing international events to Denmark. With his competent insight, he makes things succeed, he is key to the international event successes in Denmark and thus a worthy recipient of the Lis Hartels Memorial Prize 2024," said HRH Princess Benedikte

The Lis Hartel Memorial Prize includes a 25,000 DKK cash prize, which Trabjerg donated to Dennis Fisker's Randbøl Dressage Academy.

"I am incredibly happy to receive the memorial award and greatly appreciate the reason why I should be this year's recipient," said Jens. "I would like to pass the check on to talent development in Danish equestrian sport, and I do that by donating it to the mentoring scheme at Randbøl Dressage Academy, which can convey the amount to a dressage talent who can benefit from it."

Last year's recipient was Danish warmblood president Jan Pedersen. Previous recipients of the Lis Hartel Memorial Prize are, for instance, trainer Hasse Hoffmann, journalist Britt Carlsen, trainer Bjarne Nielsen, judge Hans-Christian Matthiesen, dressage rider Cathrine Dufour, chef d'equipe Rigmor Kristensen, dressage sponsor Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak, amongst others.
