Danish Grand Prix dressage trainer and rider Hasse Hoffmann became the recipient of the 2018 Lis Hartel Memorial Prize, which was handed over to him at the 2018 Danish Championships in Broholm on Sunday 10 June 2018.

Hoffmann is the fourth Danish dressage personality to receive the Lis Hartel Memorial Prize, which was created in 2015.

Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark handed over the award, which has been created in collaboration with the Hartel-Siesbye famly and Dressurens Venner, a Danish dressage promotional foundation.

"As a rider, Hasse Hoffmann has ridden both in show jumping and dressage at the highest level, although he's been more committed to dressage the past decades," said HRH Princess Benedikte. "His good eye, skilfful hands and seat to match rider with horse have been a great help to many. His professionalism is dynamic and inspiring. Everyone gladly remembers his inspiring clinics and instructive and dedicated books. Hasse Hoffmann is a deeply committed man who stands out with his professionalism and wit, his horse welfare and with his heart in the right place. It is entirely in Lis Hartel's spirit."

Previous recipients of the Lis Hartel Memorial Prize are journalist Britt Carlsen, trainer Bjarne Nielsen and judge Hans-Christian Matthiesen.
