2025 Spanish Youth Riders Championships

Children rider Alfonso Roig Bonilla, junior rider Hugo Melida Gomez, and young rider Javier Guillén Callejas became the winners of the 2025 Spanish Youth Riders Championships in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, on 24 - 28 September 2025.

In the children division pony rider Alfonso Roig Bonilla moved into the Children division instead of going to the Pony nationals and topped the overall leaderboard with the 14-year old Danish bred pony Strandgaard Doleys, scoring 69.709% in the preliminary test, 74.0 in the team test and 74.337% in the individual test. Spanish Children team rider Mar Pena Rios and the NRPS bred Brandour (by Brandon) got silver, while Manuel Crespo de Arriba and the Lusitano Grato (by Quadrado) finished on bronze.

In his penultimate year as a junior rider the 17-year old Hugo Melida Gomez and his 18-year old CDE registered mare Goya A (by Tornado) made it an extraordinary feat of winning his third title in his career in an FEI youth division. He was already children champion in 2022 and junior champion in 2024. This year he was untouchable staying well ahead of all competition with 70.546% in the team test, 71.382% in the individual test and 74.72% in the Kur. The silver was for Alvaro Lopez Rey aboard the 15-year old Westfalian mare Crumel, while bronze went to Adriana Navarro Sanchez on the 7-year old Hanoverian mare Vaiana de Amtuna (by Vivaldi).

In the Young Riders division, Javier Guillén Callejas prolonged his title once again, staying undefeated in all three rounds of the championship. Aboard his 13-year old PRE bred Resuelto AS (by Barquero XXVI) he was the only rider to score over 70% three times. He got 71.912% in the team test, 71.206% in the individual test and 72.14% in the Kur. His victory is unprecedented making this his fifth national youth championship gold medal. he was twice junior champion and this is his third, consecutive young riders' title. The silver was for Nile Urrutia Lopez aboard the Hanoverian bred Viriathus van GC (by Vivaldi), while bronze went to Maria Araceli Martin Rivera on the KWPN bred mare Ladiva (by Dante Weltino).
