German pony and junior rider Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel has welcomed a new horse in her stable as a future junior rider horse: Farlana.
Farlana TS is a 9-year old Hanoverian mare by Furstenball x Lancier. She is bred by Ekke Thaden.
Previously owned by Christel Cohn-Vossen, the mare was first trained and competed by Svenja Meyer and Rieke Schnieder. She was also briefly ridden by Ingrid Klimke's apprentice Sophia Schulze Eistrup in 2016. Vera Nass then took over the ride and developed the mare to Prix St Georges level.
Only two weeks ago, the duo competed at the 2020 CDN Hagen, the first big national dressage show in Germany post corona. They achieved 70.789% in the Prix St Georges and 69.553% in the PSG Special.
On 18 June Farlana sold and moved to the Baumgurtel family, who runs their own training and breeding yard, Freiberger Hof.
The 16-year old Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel is the double European Pony Champion (2016, 2017) on Massimiliano. In 2018 she won team gold at the Europeans, but did not make it into the kur finals because her pony was spooky. In December 2018 Lucie-Anouk began competing at junior rider's level with Sweetheart (by Scolari x Hohenstein) and in 2019, at age 15, she tried for the German junior team. She was selected but had to withdraw right before the Europeans due to an injury. Sweetheart is yet to make her come back to the show ring.
2020 is Lucie's last year on ponies and she's scheduled to compete in next week's CDI Mariakalnok in Hungary with pony Nasdaq (by Nemax x Don't Worry). At German national level she has also been campaigning the 8-year old Oldenburg bred Cinnamon (by Cennin x Rohdiamant) and the home bred 11-year old Oldenburg Caraleifa (by Carabas x Breitling W).
