Renate Balmer and the Swiss warmblood Baylador KWG won the 2014 Swiss Breed Classic held at the Berne equestrian centre in Berne, Switzerland, on Saturday 22 November 2014.

Judged by Swiss Grand Prix riders Nicola Heyser, Philipp Hess and Corinne Rapold, the 2014 Swiss Breed Classic is talent spotting competition for 3-year old show jumpers and dressage horses. The dressage horses are judged on their gaits, rideability and general impression.

Renate Balmer presented the winning horse, her own 3-year old Swiss warmblood Baylador KWG (by Bretton Woods x Dressage Royal), who scored 8.72 in total to win the title.

Rudolf Guyer and RG Starlet H (by Sir Donnerhall I x Dream of Glory) was the runner up with 8.26 points. The mare excellent in trot and canter but underwhelmed in walk.

The top three was completed by Christian Meyer on Golden Bree KWG (by Bretton Woods x Abanos), who scored high on all three basic gaits but lost some points on the rideability mark. The total was 8.22.

The top three were the only horses able to score an average above 8.0.
