Brazilian paralympic dressage rider Rodolpho Riskalla got injured in a road accident on 17 February 2026. He got run over by a motorcycle and had to be transported to the hospital.
The German based Brazilian reported, "yesterday night walking my dog, crossing properly at cross walk after looking both sides I was run over by a motorcycle in front of my house, for sure the driver was way too fast and didn’t saw me… I landed over 10 meters away from the place I was, I don’t know how any bone is (not) broken."
He quipped, "run over and survive, check. Just a new scar and one more survival story."
In 2015 the now 41-year old Riskalla contracted bacterial meningitis which resulted in the amputation of the ends of both legs, his right hand, and some fingers from his left. He took up Para dressage in January 2016 and has become one of the most celebrated Paralympic dressage riders since, competing at three consecutive Paralympic Games.
