Ann-Kathrin Lachemann and the Swiss owned, German stallion station and breeding farm Gut Schönweide have parted ways. Gasser announced the news on Facebook on 2 February 2026.

Lachemann has been head rider at the stud since January 2025 and stepped in for Hannah Laser

Lachemann

The 26-year old Lachemann, also known as "Aki," initially trained with Katrin Burger before basing herself at Deuerer's Erdbeerhof in Baden Wurttemberg to work with Oliver Luze as of 2022. The next two years she showed Deuerer's Florida's Dream (by Fahrenheit x Diamond Hit) in the small tour and Deuerer's Clara Korn (by Carabas x Lauries Crusador xx) in Under 25. In 2025 she left for Schönweide.

Her international show career is based on a handful of CDI starts. She debuted on the CDI scene in 2020 as a young rider aboard her own Fransje (by United x Silvano N) and rode Under 25 with the mare in 2021. Between 2023 and 2024 she rode in four CDI's (Kronberg, Lier, Mannheim, Salzburg). She once competed internationally with a Schönweide horse -- small tour mare Venecia OLD (by Van Vivaldi x Florencio) -- in August 2025.

In her year at the Swiss stud farm Lachemann reaped most success with the rising 8-year old Oldenburg stallion Sky (by Sezuan x Sir Donnerhall), winning the 2025 Bundeschampionate for 7-year olds.  In October 2025 she fell off a horse and was sidelined with injuries. Sky was sent to Bianca Nowag to continue his training while Aki recovered.

Parting Ways

The Gasser couple announced Lachemann's departure on Facebook.

"Completely unexpectedly, Aki informed us that she has accepted an offer that will enable her to achieve her goal of competing at a higher level more quickly," said Gasser. "She has not been able to get back in the saddle since her riding accident at the beginning of October 25. We regret her decision and are aware that her goals for 2026, the Nuremberg Burgpokal with Sky, as well as the National Championships and/or World Championships with the younger stallions, would not yet have been considered ‘big-time sport’. We wish Aki a continued speedy recovery and thank her for her time with us. We hope that her wishes come true."

Lachemann has not made any statement on her decision.  It has been rumoured that she might take up a new vacant position at Stable Meggle after Hannah Laser left two months on the job.
