Mary-Sophie Haid Bondergaard's Adora Nightingale Gets New Rider in Sweden

Mary-Sophie Haid Bondergaard's Swedish junior-young rider team horse Adora Nightingale has tuned a new page in her book and continues her sport career with a new Swedish junior hopeful.

Adora Nightingale is a 16-year old Hanoverian mare by Ampere out of H Copernica (by Regazzoni x Weltmeyer). She is bred by Pernilla Ström in Sweden.

Career Start

They bay mare was first competed as a 5-year old in Sweden in 2015 by Mikaela Gisslen.  Shortly afterwards Olof Axelsson took over the ride. 

A three year break from competition followed and in 2018 she returned under Louisee Lindstrom, who competed her for one year. 

In the spring of 2019 Pernilla Andre-Hokfelt took place in the saddle and trained and showed her for one year.

Adora Nightingail sold to Charlotte Haid of Norrehee Dressage Stable for her daughter Mary-Sophie to ride. 

She premiered her in June 2020 at national level and rode her in her first international in Ypaja in June 2021 at junior level. They won bronze at the 2021 Swedish Junior Riders Championships. In 2022 they showed at the CDI's in Kristiansand and Flyinge and got silver at the 2022 Swedish Junior Championships They were nominated on the Swedish team for the European Junior Riders Championships in Hartpury, where they finished 34th in the individual test with 67.265%.

In 2023 the pair stepped up to Young Riders level and after sjowing in Stadl Paura and Aalborg, and placing fourth at the  2023 Swedish YR Championships, they were back on the team for the 2023 Young Rider Europeans in Pilisjaszfalu, where they landed 48th place with 65.559%.

Mary-Sophie and Adora were on a roll and continued through 2024 with starts in Gössendorf, Stadl Paura and Hagen. They grabbed gold at the 2024 Swedish Young Riders Championships and were back on the team for the Europeans in St. Margarethen, where they were 32nd in the individual test with 67.235%.

Their last international as a combination was the CDIO Lier in May 2025. They concluded their career with bronze at the 2025 Swedish Young Riders Championships.

New Rider

Adora Nightingale has now moved on with a new rider, 16-year old Swedish junior rider Milla Blomqvist.

"You came into my life as the biggest teddy bear and gave me the very best start, from pony to horse," Mary-Sophie wrote in her goodbye note. "It hasn’t always been easy, but I always trusted the process and believed in you since the very first day! I’ve always promised you that we would grow old together, but I know how much you love going down that centerline, so I want to give you a few more years to do what you love."

Bomqvist represented Sweden at the 2023 European Children Championships in Kronberg on Sandro (by Sandakan x Bernstein) and trains with Johanna Due Boje.
