Cerano Gold, Nathalie Wahlund's internationally competed Grand Prix horse, has found a new junior rider in Great Britain.

Cerano Gold is a 2006 born Dutch warmblood by Serano Gold out of Ratina L (by Lancelot x Farn). He is bred by the late Adriaan van de Goor.

Lucy Wells

Originally trained and listed as owned by Vicky Thompson-Winfield, the chestnut Cerano Gold made his show debut in the U.K in 2013 as a 7-year old under Lucy Wells

Wells competed the gelding from novice to Prix St Georges level between 2013 and 2015.

In 2016 Janice Gray took over the ride and showed him mainly at Advanced Medium before Madeleine Alaia van Vleet had her turn in 2017 showing him twice in the autumn of 2017.

In those years Winflield, had sold Cerano to client John Evans.

Swedish born Nathalie Wahlund took up a job at Winfield's Oldencraig equestrian center and in November 2017 she was matched with Evans' Cerano Gold.

Their competition start was in March 2018 and four months later they made their international debut in Hickstead in July 2018 at Young Riders' level. Half a year later tackled the Under 25 Grand Prix for the first time at the 2019 CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland. Their solid scores led to a Swedish team nomination for the 2019 European Under 25 Championships in San Giovanni in Marignano, where they made it into the Kur to Music Finals to place 16th.

In 2020 they competed at the CDI Lier right before the corona pandemic swept across Europe. They returned to the arena in between COVID-19 waves to show at the CDI Grote Brogel in July 2020. Nathalie had moved to Germany by that time, first based with Caroline McLean in Tönisvorst (GER) before riding for Mandy Zimmer in Luxembourg. She was lucky that Cerano Gold's owner offered her to take the horse with her.

At the 2021 Swedish Under 25 Championships she was fourth and at the 2021 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen she was 42nd in the short Grand Prix test.

In January 2022 she began working for Patrik Kittel in Germany and obtained ownership of Cerano Gold. She went to the 2022 Swedish U25 Championships and landed 8th place. She was re-selected on the team for the 2022 European Under 25 Championships in Pilisjaszfalu, but got eliminated in the short Grand Prix after a 25th place in the Inter II on 67.794% and team bronze.

In 2023 Wahlund moved back to the U.K. to ride for Sarah Millis and declared for Italy. Between 2023 and 2024 she competed him at senior Grand Prix level at CDI's in Ornago, Wiener Neustadt, Kronenberg, Addington, Windsor, Hartpury and Wellington Heckfield. The latter show in October 2024 was Nathalie's last international on Cerano Gold.

After the CDI Wellington, Wahlund showed Cerano Gold two more times in the U.K. at national Grand Prix level, first in April and then at the 2025 British Championships, where she was 9th in the Grand Prix with 66.48%. She is now coached by Sune Hansen.

Since then Cerano Gold has been allocated to British junior rider Sofia Games, who made her debut on Cerano on 11 January 2026 at Crofton Manor, scoring 72.03% in the Advanced Medium test.

The 17-year old Games has been competing at junior level in 2025 with her own Honey d'Or (by Chippendale x Sandro Hit) and at Young Riders level with Leslie Forlee's Boccelli (by Benicio x Riccione), while also showing Totil Platinum (by Totilas x Rotspon) and Bovary JBM  (by Baron x Dacaprio) nationally at M-level.
