Australian Olympian Simone Pearce will have to take it easy for a while. On 18 November she had an accident in Denmark breaking her hand.
Simone explained that "yesterday I was away trying horses and had an accident which resulted in a broken hand. Now I fly home and probably in the next days will have surgery. It should be a quick recovery."
Pearce only recently made her big come back to international Grand Prix level after the retirement of her double Olympic mount Destano. Aboard her fiancé Martin Fuchs' 9-year old Spanish sport horse bred Will Marq (by Rio Marq x Lanciano) she returned to the CDI ring in August in Neustadt-Dosse, but the ride didn't go as planned and they retired. In october they found their stride at the CDI Troisdorf with a 69.413% in the Grand Prix and confirmed that form last weekend in Stuttgart with another 69.130% ride. They did not ride the Special.

"Just very disappointed and sad after so much time and work and patience to get back out competing and having the horses in good shape to be side lined by this," said Simone. "But at least it's nothing too serious and I will be back riding as soon as possible."
