French Tokyo Olympic team rider Maxime Collard and the Hanoverian mare Fiadora became the winners of the 2025 French Championships for 7-year olds which were held in Le Mans on 17 - 18 October 2025.
For the ninth year running, these 7-year old championships were held in Le Mans. A field of 12 horses participated in the two-round Championship. The class was judge by Maria Colliander and Nadine Cochenet Kersenti.
Fiadora Wins
Collard piloted Fiadora (by Fürsten-Look x Valentino)) to the title by winning the preliminary round with 76.027% and the finals test with 78.443%. Fiadora is owned by the French art investment company Applicat Prazan and was secured by the company with assistance of French judge Marietta Almasy for 218,000 euro at the Hanoverian Online Auction in January 2022.
The win in Le Mans was a nice birthday present as Collard turned 39 on the final day of competition. Earlier this summer the mare finished 14th in the consolation final at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden. This was the second time Fiadora went to the WCYH. In 2023 she finished 10th in the 5-year old consolation final in Ermelo.
Top Three
Belgian Grand Prix rider François Hologne Joux finished second aboard Françoise Pinte's KWPN bred gelding Next Level (by Escolar x Ferro) after placing second twice with 74.924% and 76.015%. Earlier in August the pair finished fourth at the 2025 Belgian Young Horse Championships in Gesves in the 7-year old division. Next Level was first competed by former international Belgian youth rider Louise Mourlon Beernaert and her sister Clara before Hologne took over the ride in 2024.
French Young Rider team member and young professional Mathilde Juglaret got the bronze medal aboard Sylvain Massa's French cross-bred (CPD) registered Orien Xpress (sic) de Massa (by James Bond de Massa x San Amour). They placed third in both rounds with 74.893% and 74.029%.
