The KWPN bred and German licensed stallion Taurus has been sold to a German junior rider and gelded to be focused on sport.

Taurus is a 2017 born Dutch warmblood by Toto Jr out of Garonette (by Apache x Jetset-D x Elcaro x Roemer). He is bred by M. Konijn-Egas from Zuidoostbeemster, the The Netherlands.

Make My Day

Originally named Make My Day, the black was presented at the foal inspection in Midden-Beemster and got selected for the 2017 KWPN Foal Championship but he was not presented in Ermelo.

In August 2017 the foal sold at the Borculo Foal Auction for 41,000 euro as one of the best sellers to Jan-Pieter Dalsem, who collaborates with Dutch stallion keeper and horse dealer Eugene Reesink. Laurens van Lieren did the bidding in Borculo for Dalsem.

Reesink presented Make My Day for Dalsem at the 2017 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster, where he was named a premium stallion and got rebaptised Taurus. He was not offered for sale and moved to Reesink's Germany business partner, Mathieu Beckmann, to stand at stud.

In 2020 he did his 50-day stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf and scored 7.97 for dressage. He was approved for Oldenburg in March 2020 and for Hanover in May 2021.

Sport and Breeding

He had a moderate sport career, having shown in just a handful of competitions. Under Freiderike Kampmeyer (Beckmann's head rider) he made his debut in May 2022 at age 5 and did two tests. In 2023 he did just one and in 2024 he was shown in three classes, his last being an M**level test in Ochtrup.

Taurus in 2021
Taurus was not an unpopular stallion but did not covers masses of mares. Nevertheless the stallion was beginning to make a name for himself as a producer.

He has 83 offspring registered with the German equestrian federation (sport and/or breeding), but he has an impressive number of 8 licensed sons so far, including Rock and Roll Tauro HS, Taj Mahal, Tapesi, and Topform. At the 2023 Westfalian licensed all four presented colts were licensed. At the 2025 KWPN stallin licensing the non-licensed Taurus x Finest Selection was the most expensive, non-licensed horse of the auction, selling for 110,000 euro.

Sold as Youth Rider Horse

Instead of cultivating Taurus' breeding career, it was decided to move the stallion to Tessa Frank to be trained and sold.

Tauras has found a new owner and rider in German junior rider Mia-Marie Rondi. She had the horse gelded to focus him fully on sport.

"Right now, it’s all about growing together as a team," Mia told Eurodressage. "We will compete in a few smaller competitions this season to gain experience – and then next year, we’re aiming for the Young Riders Tour."

Rondi is collaborating with Tessa Frank and her long-time coach Christiane Copes van Hasselt.

"Tessa is preparing Taurus," Mia explained. "I train with Tessa as well as my own trainer whom I am working with for a few years already to make sure everything fits together well."

Rondi has been showing nationally in Germany at M**-level with Timms Pepe (HOLST, by Prince of Glory x Colonel) and Monclaire (OLD by Morricone x Larimar). Last year she also competed Fidus (HANN, by Flanell x Laurentio).
