Belgian Olympian Jorinde Verwimp has lost her 7-year old rising Prix St Georges horse No Surrender. The bay succumbed to colic.

No Surrender was a 2018 born KWPN gelding by Charmeur out of Aronia (by Rousseau x ). He was bred by H. Vingerhoets.

Verwimp premiered the bright bay gelding in 2023 in the 5-year old young horse tests in Belgium. They won the Young Dressage Talents in Kortemark.

In 2024 they moved into the 6-year old division and competed at M-level at the 2024 Belgian Dressage Championships in Lier. Their international show debut was at the end of that year, in December, at the CDI Kronenberg Indoor, where they scored 72.00% and 78.600% for two second places.

This year the pair focused on more national level showing and last weekend competed at the Belgian Championships again in the M-level division, scoring 68.688% (5th), 67.424% (19th) and 73.045% in the Kur ('th).

Today Verwimp posted the sad news that No Surrender has passed away.

"Never thought last week's freestyle at the Belgium Championships would be our list ride," said Jorinde. "Heartbroken (...) Letting him go was the hardest decision I've had to make, but it was the last act of love I could give him, to end his suffering and let him find peace. Thank you, Nono for your kind soul, for all the beautiful moments. We will miss you so so much."
