Perpignan Noir, the champion of the 2015 Trakehner Stallion Licensing, has been sold to the U.S.A.  He has been gelded and will continue as a schoolmaster.

Perpignan Noir is a 2013 born Trakehner by Schwarzgold out of Parade Go (by Maizauber x Turnus x Insterruf). He is bred by Mara König and Ernst Meier.

Licensing Champion

He was acquired as a foal by Swis Adrian Gasser who presented the stallion at the 2015 Trakehner Stallion Licensing, where he was proclaimed champion. He sold at auction for 340,000 euro to the Austrian duo Karl Ochsner and Dominik Hartl of the company  "Trakehner For Life."

They initially kept the stallion in training with Ralf Kornprobst in Germany. He initially stood up for stud at stallion station Bachl.

Perpignan Noir did his stallion sport test in March 2017 in Munich, scoring 7.63 points. One month later he did the 14-day suitability test in Marbach and scored 7.78 for dressage and 6.98 for show jumping to finish on a total of 7.60. He completed his licensing requirements with the second sport test in Munster-Handorf in March 2018 and scored 7.69 points.

As a breeding stallion, Perpignan Noir  did not cover that many mares but he has sired 2 licensed sons (Imperativ, Karim Doré, Monsieur Perpignan) and 3 state premium daughters. Fifteen of his offspring are registered for sport with the German FN

Sport Career

With Ralf Kornprobst in 2017
In December 2017 the owners announced that Perpignan Noir would move in training with German Olympian Anabel Balkenhol, but the stallion did not stay there long.

He was only very lightly competed in his life, so far. Aside from a few stallion shows, his first competition was in June 2018 under Philip Kloth at L-level. A month later he did another L-level test.  Two years later Perpignan Noir returned to the show ring with Johanna Klippert and did an M-level test in Warendorf-Freckenhorst. He was shown at a stallion show by Ingrid Klimke in 2020.

The horse was sent to Hof Kassemann for further training and to be sold. He was gelded to be focused on sport.  With Korean Young Shik Hwang, he did his first S-level test in February 2022 in Ankum. Hwang rode him in three further classes. In the summer 2023 the horse was competed by Anna Christina Abbelen at local shows in Hille and Herzebrock.

U.S.A.

Perpignan Noir has now been sold as a schoolmaster for American Micah Leigh Blatt.

"We are very excited to add this amazing horse to our show horse line up," Micah's trainer Jessica Blackmon-White told Eurodressage. "Micah is a long time client of Black Star Sport Horses, located just south of Dallas, Texas. She will be riding and learning to move up the levels and trainer Jessica will be showing Perpignan Noir. We picked him for Micah because of his wonderful temperament and great training with the assistance of Hof Kasselmann and Black Star."
