Lena Waldmann's small tour horse Scarlett O’Hara has moved to a German young rider. The chestnut mare will continue her career under Luise Bonacker.

Scarlett O’Hara is an 8-year old Westfalian mare by Scuderia out of Laetitia (by Laurentianer x Ehrentusch). She is bred and was owned by Ilke Albers.

Kira Wegmann

The mare was first competed by Ilke Albers in early 2019 before  Kira Wegmann took over the ride.

The new pair finished 5th at the 2019 Bundeschampionate in the 4-year old mares and geldings division and made the transition to L-dressage horse level in Appelhülsen in November 2019.

Albers competed her again at the start of the new year but it was Wegmann who piloted the horse to a 10th place in the 5-year old dressage horse finals at the Bundeschampionate. In 2021 they placed 5th in the 6-year old final after she lost bronze by going off course, which resulted in a 0,2 point deduction.

Wegmann lost the ride on Scarlett O'Hara mid 2022. She moved on to become an assistant rider for Pascal Kandziora.

Lena Waldmann

German Grand Prix rider Lena Waldmann became a force to be reckoned with in the Westfalian area when she suddenly left Gestut Bonhomme in the Berlin area in 2022 to start her own, independent base in west Germany.

Several riders in the area lost prominent horses as the arrival of Waldmann prompted owners to put their horses in training with her. Waldmann quickly gathered an impressive collection, including Grand Prix horse Belle de Carpie (Kira Laura Soddemann), Belinda and Charming (Claire Louise Averkorn), Filegra (Ann Kathrin Lindner), and Scarlett O'Hara (Kira Wegmann).

Waldmann made her competition debut on the chestnut mare straight away at the CDI Wiesbaden in June, where they were second and third. From there they went to a local show in Hamminkeln, followed by the big national show in Elmlohe, where they secured a ticket to the Nurnberger Burgpokal finals. In September they showed at the 2022 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and were 7th in the consolation finals for 7-year olds. Waldmann further competed the mare in Guxhagen, Oldenburg, and Datteln before heading to Frankfurt for the Burgpokal finals in which they ranked 12th out of 12 finalists.

Their last show was more than half a year ago in January 2023. They won an S-class in Adelheidsdorf. last show was end of January 2023.

Originally from Kronberg near Frankfurt, Bonacker is a youth rider who has competed at national level. Originally based at Kronenhof in Bad Homburg, where she trained with Thomas Wagner, Luise recently moved to Gut Hohenkamp in Dorsten and is coached by Dina Hodde.

Luise and Scarlett O'Hara made their show debut this weekend in Rheine-Wadelheim and placed fourth in the M* and second in the M** test with 8,2 points.

Bonacker has previously been competing Marion Loew's Furst Salomon (by Furstenball x Sandro Song) at S-level, as wel as Soliesa del Sol (by Soliman x Lauries Crusador xx) and Jazzlin (by Jazz Rubin x Licotus) at M-level. The family, which co-owns the cosmetic company Babor, recently bought Markus von Holdt's Bundeschampionate finalist Quiraz.
