Denmark's number one Grand Prix rider Cathrine Dufour has been expanding her string of horses by investing in youngsters together with her sponsors, the Zinglersen family.  After securing Nox, HP Viard, and Zimillione, the investors have now bought SK Farnello.

SK Farnello is a 5-year old Danish warmblood gelding by Blue Hors Farrell out of Acanthi Foldager (by Akinos x Loran x May Sherif). He is bred by Susanne Bastrup Kastberg who sold him to Ann-Sofie Thode Barfoed in March 2021.

SK Farnello was first competed in September 2022 by Louise Dall before professional Susanne Barnow took over.

The bay gelding first hit the spotlight at the 2023 Danish Warmblood 5-Year Old Championship in Herning, where Dufour was the test rider in the finals and first sat on Farnello. Barnow and Farnello finished in 15th place overall.

"I loved him from the first time I sat on him as a test rider in Herning - and to those who remembered I also gave him 10 in rideability, thanks to his fantastic rider Susanne Barnow," Dufour explained. "We’re over the moon about this future star "

Cathrine Dufour and her wife Rasmine Laudrup run a business together and have become co-investors in SK Farnello together with long-time friends, clients and business partners, the Zinglersen family.

Dufour and Zinglersen sold the 2021 European Championship silver medal winning Bohemian for Korean rider Dong Seon Kim to ride and then saw the 2022 World Championship silver medal winning Vamos Amigos return to owner Annabella Pidgley in the U.K, leaving Cathrine without a Grand Prix horse to ride... for a short while.

The Danish has a new Grand Prix horse in the starting blocks as she has produced the co-owned Vividus QRE to Grand Prix level. Purchased in November 2021, Vividus did his first MB test in January 2022, his first Prix St Georges in October 2022, and his first Intermediaire II in April 2023. She recently rode him in another Intermediaire II test at a mock show she hosted at her own yard.
