A party for golden girl Lottie Fry at Van Olst Horses: Gold at the World Dressage Championships and World Young Horse Championships this year

In Holland there was a big celebration for golden girl Charlotte Fry at the start of the month. Lottie was honoured by her home crew at Van Olst Horses in her base in Den Hout (DEN) with a huge party. Lottie dressed in gold for the occasion. 

Luca Collin added the 7-year old Rhinelander mare Furstin Fee (by Furst Fohlenhof x Donnerschwee x Lancer II) to her string of horses two months ago. The liver chestnut mare comes from a strong mare line. Dam Donna Rafaela produced licensed stallion Rom (by Revolution) and Emily Miles' Grand Prix horse Sole Mio (by Stanford). In 2020 the mare was ridden by former German pony team rider Carlotta Hassenbürger and in 2021 Annabel Frenzen took over the ride and placed 14th in the 6-year old consolation Finals at the Bundeschampionate. Frenzen is life partner of Carlotta's brother Christoph Hassenburger. 

Quinn G, the bronze medal winner in the 4-year old finals of the 2022 Danish Young Horse Championships, has been sold to Danish youth team trainer Dennis Fisker. The chestnut Quinn G  (by Quaterhit x Fassbinder) was bred and owned by Helene Geervliet of Stutteri G. Under Anders Sjobeck Hoeck the mare finished third at the Nationals with the same score as the second placed horse, 90.800 points.  Quinn G scored 9 for walk and trot, 8.9 for canter, 9.3 for rideability and 9.2 for general impression.

Hvolbøll got engaged
Christian Springborg, stallion handler at Helgstrand Dressage and together with his father a breeder of Danish warmblood dressage horses, has proposed to his girlfriend, dressage rider Bianca Lunn Hvolbøll and she said yes. The couple got engaged on a holiday to Rome. "Rome got it all:  delicious food, super wine, beautiful architecture, cancelled flight and now an almost 50 hour bus tour planned to get home. But best of all - and worth it all - I got to say the biggest and most loving YES in my whole life," wrote Bianca, who is an assistant rider at Jan Møller Christensen's yard Noagård in Denmark.

The 12-year old Danish warmblood horse Safari Klintgaard has been sold to India. Safari (by Sunny Boy x Don Schufro) is bred by Ulla Klokker Andersen and Rikke Munk and was owned by Pernille Orum. Under Danish young rider Sophia Ludvigsen the bay competed at international young riders level from 2019 till 2021. He will now continue as a small tour horse with Indian Sweta Mirdha Hooda.

The 11-year old German FEI dressage pony Delray has been sold to Denmark. Delray (by FS Don't Worry x Voyager) made his break through on the international scene under Frederike Feldhaus. They were part of the German team that won team gold at the CDIO-P Nations' Cup in Mariakalnok and were the 2019 Rhinelander Regional Pony Champions. They won the 2019 Preis der Besten qualifier in Kronberg. The pony sold to German Alessa Maas who made her international pony show debut with him at the 2021 CDI Kronberg (GER). They competed at one CDI in 2022 in Kronenberg (NED). The chestnut has now been sold to Danish  Rikke M Johnsen.

Irish World Championship team rider Abigail Lyle is on the move. The North Irish dressage rider, who is originally from Bangor (IRL), has been based in the U.K. at various places since 2009. She started in the U.K. at Pammy Hutton's Talland in Gloucesterhire and was also based with Fenella Quinn in Aberdeenshire before relocating to Morpeth, Northumberland, in 2020. She is now moving to Robbie McNeil's yard in Chippenham, Wiltshire, to be closer to her long-time trainer Carl Hester. 

British dressage rider Frances Rudge has passed away on 3 July 2022. She was 78 years old. Rudge and her late husband Mick Rudge were well known as the organizers of the CDI Stubbing Court which ran its last edition in 2000. Frances started out as an eventing rider before switching to dressage. In 2003 she became a recipient of the Bronze Badge of Honour. Frances competed nationally until 2014. Her last competition horse was Rivasaltes (by Rubin Royal). Other show horses were Stubbing Court Licardo (by Leonardo II), Joe Zawinul (by Faighter), and Milestones.

Stubbing Court is a gorgeous Georgian country house, set in approximately 42 acres of parkland, which Frances' father, John Adlington (Master of the High Peak Hounds), acquired in 1953 and passed on to his daughter. The property is now for sale.

Italian FEI dressage pony FS Coco Jambo, previously shown on the Dutch pony team by Febe van Zwambagt (NED) and internationally by current owner Edoardo Zara (ITA), has found a new rider.  Coco's career started in Germany under Jana Freund, competing at three Bundschampionate before he moved to Holland where he was successfully shown by Febe van Zwambagt, followed by Romy Verweij, and Mirthe van Doremalen. The 16-year old Westfalian (by FS Champion de Luxe x Dressman) sold to Italy two years ago for Zara to ride. Tutto Dressage reported that he has now handed over the reins to 11-year old Matilde Zimbalatti.

Tutto Dressage also reported that Italian based Spanish dressage rider Victor Alfonso Pomares has relocated within Italy. Originally arriving in Italy to ride for Allevamento Fonte Abeti, Pomares went solo in the summer of 2020 and set up his business in Arezzo. As of 1 November 2022 the Spaniard and his partner Eleonora Perroni will move to Corte Ghiara equestrian club in Fontanellato (Parma area).
