Anna Dalrymple's British European Championshop young riders' team horse Vagabond de Massa has been sold.

British pony rider Isla Sully has purchased the 13-year old Lusitano (by Rieto x Xaqiero) from owner Maxine Vainio as her future junior riders' horse.

French Start

Vagabond de Massa was bred by Sylvain Massa and is the full brother to Mathilde Juglaret's Caporal de Massa.

The bay was first ridden and shown by Renaud Ramadier, who used to be Massa's head rider.

Vagabond sold to the Finnish Maxine Vainio and spent three seasons in the U.K. He was first competed at national level by Joshua Hill in 2016, followed by Vainio in August 2017, who sometimes swapped rides with trainer Sarah Millis.

Vainio's last start was in March 2019 at the CDI Keysoe, the international debut show for both horse and rider.

In the autumn of 2019 the horse moved to the U.S.A. with his owner working out of New York City. The ride on Vagabond went to Hope Beerling with the training supervised by Catherine Haddad.

Anna Dalrymple

In 2021 Vagabond returned to the U.K. and in the early spring Anna Dalrymple made her show debut with him.  Their first CDI start followed in May 2021 at Wellington Heckfield and more rides followed at the CDI's in Waregem and Keysoe.

In 2022 Dalrymple pursued a spot on the British young riders team by showing in Le Mans and Aachen. Their last competition was the 2022 European Young Riders Championships in Hartpury, where they were fourth with the team and she placed 13th in the freestyle finals

Isla Sully

Vagabond de Massa has now been sold to 13-year old British pony rider Isla Sully.

Isla made her international show debut in the children division at the 2022 CDI Keysoe aboard the now 15-year old German riding pony Reitland's Don Totilas (by Diamond x Nixen).  Three months later the competed at the 2022 CDI Wellington Heckfield in the pony division, scoring a double 66%.

Sully rides at Collective Equestrian in Chew Magna and trains primarily with Alex Harrison, while Elizabeth Allen helps her school her pony once a week.

"My plans with Vagabond are to compete internationally for Great Britain at Juniors and hopefully at Europeans," she told Eurodressage.
