2016 Polish Dressage Championships

Junior Rider Zuzanna Haber, young rider and Under 25 rider Tomasz Jasinski and Grand Prix rider Aleksandra Szulc became the grand champions in their divisions at the 2016 Polish Dressage Championships held during the CDI-W Augustowek at the Bajardo equestrian club near Warsaw, Poland, on 1 - 4 September 2016.

In the junior riders division Zuzanna Haber steered her 7-year old Hanoverian Don Crusoe (by Don Crusador x Favretto) to victory after placing second in the team test (69.162%), first in the individual test (71.053%) and first in the freestyle (74.050%). She totalled 214.265% for the gold with an almost 5% overall point advantage. Anna Wojtkowska and her 12-year old Polish bred Pascal (by Woland x Nirkan) finished in silver medal position with an overall of 209.584%. She was first in the team test (70.676%), second in the individual (68.658%) and third in the freestyle (70.250%). Malgorzata Cybulska and the 7-year old Oldenburg bred Chenaro (by Chequille x Dinaro) landed the bronze with 208.565% after scoring 69.135 (3rd), 68.605 (3rd) and 70.825 (2nd).

Tomasz Jasinski, son of Polish Grand Prix team member Katarzyna Milczarek, has extensive show experience and has been competing in three different divisions this year on four different horses. In the young riders' category he won gold aboard Shosholoza (by Sir Donnerhall x Furioso II) with 72.553% (1st), 68.763% (1st) and 68.600% (3rd). He finished with a total of 209.916% for gold ahead of Nikola Marczak on Romantic P (by Rosenstein x Furst Heinrich). This duo scored 68,895% (2nd) in the team test, 67,448% (3rd) in the individual, and 68,450% (4th) in the Kur to finish in silver with 204.793%. Jan Gawecki and the Brandenburg bred Kuanto W (by Samba Hit x Rulon) were good for bronze with 66,632% (3rd), 66,368% (4th), and 71,550% (1st).

Five Polish riders contested the Under 25 national championships and Mateusz Cichon landed at the top of the board with the 9-year old Hanoverian Herzregent (by Hotline x Alabaster). The pair was first in Intermediaire II (67.472%), second in the short Grand Prix (67.842%) and first in the freestyle (67.465%). With 202.779 % he got the gold well ahead of Ewa Hamkalo on her 14-year old Dutch warmblood Vivaldi (by Ro-Lex x Jazz), who earned silver with 66.195% (3rd), 68.263% (1st) and 66.209%  (2nd) (total 200.667%). Jan Gawecki and the 14-year old Oldenburg Quest (by Quando Quando x Leopard) won the bronze with 66.361% (2nd), 66.605 (3rd) and 64.326% (3rd) to finish on 197.292%. It was the second bronze medal for Gawecki of the weekend.

In the senior division for Grand Prix riders it was a weekend of triumph for Aleksandra Szulc on her 12-year old Polish warmblood Rumba Hit (by Samba Hit x Rotspon). They won gold after winning the Intermediaire II (70.211%) and the Grand Prix (68.400%) and placing third in the Kur (70.700%). Zaneta Skowronska and her 13-year old Hanoverian Mystery (by Margue H x Delano) climbed the ladder to the silver medal position. They were fifth in the Inter II (68.000%), second in the Grand Prix (67.040%) and first in the Kur (71.800%). Przemysław Kozanowski and Edward Ratynski's 9-year old Hanoverian Belcanto (by Breitling W x Donnerhall) finished with bronze after scoring 69,395% (2nd), 66,140% (5th), and 70,075% (4th).
