2015 Polish Dressage Championships

Young Rider Jan Gawecki and Grand Prix rider Anna Lukasik became the winners of the  2015 Polish Dressage Championships held in Bobrowy Staw, Poland, on 4 - 6 September 2015. Eight young rider combinations and nine Grand Prix pairs contested these National championships and both gold medalists left no doubt about their supremacy.

The 20-year old, highly experienced Polish youth team rider Jan Gawecki has five years of international showing down his belt, taking his 14-year old Oldenburg bred Quest (by Quando Quando x Leopard) from junior level to Grand Prix in 2014 and back down to Young Riders level in the summer of 2015 for the European Young Riders Championships.

At the Polish nationals he had no competition and scored three winning rounds of  67.658%, 68.184% and 71.275% to total 207.117 points for gold. The 19-year old Tomasz Jasinski, son of Polish Grand Prix team rider Katarzyna Milczarek, became the silver medalist on Don Corleone. While Jasinski rode the European YR Championships on Shosholoza (by Sir Donnerhall), for the Polish Championships he saddled Don Corleone who has not yet competed internationally under the young rider. The pair scored 65.026%, 67.684% and 69.950% to total 202.660 points for silver. They referred 16-year old team mate Michalina Terlecka on the 15-year old Westfalian gelding Falsterbeau (by Ferragamo x Newcastle) to a bronze medal position. Terlecka posted scores of 65.053%, 67.921% and 67.100% to finish on 200.074 points.

At Grand Prix level 28-year old Anna Lukasik captured the highest step of the podium after two winning rounds and one second place aboard her 2015 European Championship and 2014 WEG team ride Ganda, a 12-year old Polish warmblood by Celtik SP x Gluckspilz and bred by Grand Prix rider Katarzyna Milczarek, who herself finished second at the Nationals! Lukasik scored a winning 68.237% in the Grand Prix, a top score of 70.340% in the Special and got second with 71.550% in the freestyle. Her total of 210.127% was good for gold. Milczarek saddled  Teo, a 16-year old Dutch warmblood by Democraat x Uniform, which came from Anne van Olst's yard in The Netherlands. The judges rewarded Milczarek with 67.737% (4th), 68.540% (2nd) and 71.600 (1st) or a total of 207.877%. Przemyslaw Kozanowski, who has not competed internationally since 2010, took Belcanto (by Breitling x Donnerhall) to a bronze medal with 66.658%, 66.240% and 67.450% for a total of 200.074 points.
