Dressage Ireland Chairman Robert McCormick has resigned, citing ‘work commitments’. McCormick (52), a businessman from Ballynahinch, Co. Down, was appointed Chairman following the sudden resignation of Gillian Kyle in August 2008.

McCormick is a former secretary of Northern Ireland Dressage, has represented Dressage Ireland on the board of Horse Sport Ireland and was a member of the HSI dressage high performance committee.

In a message to the members of the Dressage Ireland board, McCormick stated “Sadly, due to work commitments I am going to retire as Chairman of Dressage Ireland. I have enjoyed my last ten years on the board and have held the position of Chairman for the last four years. Dressage Ireland has seen many changes during my time on the board and I am sure it will continue to go from strength to strength. I wish the entire board every success for the future.”

Nominations for the new Chairman will be considered at the next Dressage Ireland board meeting on 11th December.
