Mol and Krooswijk Win Sixth and Final 2011 CHIO Cup Qualifier in Ermelo

Rosalie Mol en Angela Krooswijk won the sixth and final 2011 CHIO Cup Qualifier for Dutch Junior and Young Riders held at the Dutch Equestrian Federation headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on Sunday 29 May 2011.

At junior riders' level the scores were not extremely high and 67.84% achieved by Rosalie Mol on Legend (by Likoto) sufficed for the victory. Anne Meulendijks and her second horse Tom Tom Go (by Cabochon) finished second with 66.76% followed by Antoinette te Riele on her Hanoverian mare Fleurie (by Florestan) with 65.45%.

"Rosalie and Legend produced a beautiful overall image with a very constant contact with the bit," said judge at C Herman Smith. "Legend has a lot of expression in the movements and engaged well from behind."

Nineteen young riders appeared in the show ring and Angela Krooswijk bested the field aboard the Rhinelander stallion Roman Nature (by Rohdiamant). She scored 74.21 and outclassed all competition, including herself on her second ride Revino II (by Rohdiamant) with whom she placed second on 70.61%. Aboard the liver chestnut Urchin B (by Jazz), Tineke Bartels' student Michelle van Lanen was third on 66.58%.

"Angela can really ride the test well and never throws away points," said judge Els Mouw. "However to ride such a nice test, you really have to have your horse together. Both horses were well balanced and uphill in the frame. Roman Nature is very correct overall, with a perfect quiet contact. On Revino Angelo rode perfect pirouettes for which I gave nines."

The top 12 ranked riders in each division in the 2011 Chio Cup ranking are qualified to compete in the 2011 CHIO Cup Finals held at the 2011 European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on 19 August 2011.
