The 2004 KWPN Licensing Champion Uptown (by Kennedy x Ubis) has resurfaced again. After a highly successful dressage career as young stallion, the bay Kennedy x Ubis son disappeared from the scene leaving no traces behind him.

Today Uptown has officially appeared in the news again in the announcement that he will stand at stud at Stallion Station Klatte in Germany.

Owned by Toine Hoefs, Kathy Connelly and Al Guden, Uptown was the highly acclaimed champion of the 2004 KWPN stallion licensing in 's Hertogenbosch and won the stallion performance test. He aced the 2005 Pavo Cup Finals as a 4-year old and was reserve Pavo cup champion as a 5-year old.

Under Hans Peter Minderhoud, Uptown won the 2006 KWPN Stallion Competition and finished second in the 2007 KWPN Stallion Competition.

The combination also represented The Netherlands at the 2006 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, where they finished fifth.

Then the successful partnership between Uptown and Minderhoud came to an end. The owners suddenly took him home and he was never again seen in the show ring.

Meanwhile, two Uptown offspring are licensed with the KWPN society: Bojengel (dam sire Gribaldi) and Calm Pleasure (ds: Jazz).

Uptown will now stand at stud in Germany for the 2010 breeding season.
