A few hours of intens stress went on during the vet check of the dressage horses. With several veteran horses competing, the vet check was a special occasion for hypertension, outbreaks of sweat and nervewrecking nailbiting.

All horses passed but Germany's Gigolo, the 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding of Isabell Werth, had to run twice before the pair heard "passed".

The Swiss Partricia Bottani as well as the Danish Jan Brink saw their horses go to the holding box, but both passed later on.
