2019 Norwegian Young Horse Championships

The 4-year old Olympos Lasch, the 5-year old Joshua, the 6-year old JJ Filippa, and the 7-year old Er Det Her became the winners of 2019 Norwegian Young Horse Championships held at the riding centre of Nes on 20 - 22 September 2019.

The 4-year old division featured 18 combinations and the winner was Mille Helen Monsen aboard Olympos Lasch (by Don Olymbrio x Hotline). THe pair scored 8 for walk, 7.5 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 7.8 for rideability and 8.3 for potential. It totaled 80.20 points for the National title. The runner up was Helene Bibow-Todal aboard the Danish bred Schickimicki (by Sezuan x Bogegardens Lansini) with 80.00 points. This bay gelding earned 7 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter and rideability and 8.5 for potential. Anne Cathrine Sellaeg and the grey Danish warmblood gelding Storbjergs Fico (by Freestyle x Temptation) got the bronze with 78.60 points. The horse earned 8.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 7 for canter, 7.8 for rideability and 8 for potential.

Just six pairs competed in the 5-year old division, which was won by 2019 Norwegian Grand Prix champion Jonas Elvebakk aboard Karina Wiik's Dutch warmblood gelding Joshua (by Negro x Jazz). The bay gelding, who was the 4-year old champion in 2018, now earned 7 for walk, 7.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 7.9 for potential. He totaled 75.80 points for the victory. Young rider Helena Liholt Gulli and Kristin Andresen's Norwegian warmblood stallion AC's Pik Midaz (by Tobajo Picez x Walt Disney) got the silver with 72.80 points. The stallion scored 8 for walk, 7.5 for trot, 7.2 for canter, 6.5 for submission and 7.2 for potential. Vilda Antonsen and Guro Kjersheim's Swedish warmblood gelding MM Calido (by Carlton Hill x Lord of Catwalk H) got the bronze with 71.80 points. The chestnut gelding earned 6.8 for walk, 7 for trot and canter, 7.5 for submission and 7.6 for general impression.

Five horses competed in the 6-year old division and Cecilie Schilbred moved into the winner's circle with the Danish mare JJ Filippa (by Furstenball x Davignon). The pair won the division with 70.00 points after scoring 7.5 for walk and trot, 7 for canter, 5.7 for submission and 7.3 for potential. JJ Filippa was last year's 5-year old champion. Frederikke Dorati Bjerkasholmen and Kristin Andresen's Hanoverian gelding Diablo (by Don Frederic x Weltmeyer) were the reserve champions with 67.80 points. The liver chestnut gelding got 7.3 for walk, 6.8 for trot, 6.6 for canter, 6.2 for submission and 7 for general impression. Sandra Birkeland and Per Vanebo's Norwegian warmblood gelding Jotunheimens Hero (by Deemster x Alfas Arnt) got the bronze with 64.40 points. This black gelding got 6.8 for walk, 6.7 for trot, 6.3 for canter, 5.3 for submission and 6.5 for potential.

Everybody is a medalist in the 7-year division with just three pairs at the starting line. Monica Engebretsen and her own Danish bred Er Det Her (by ERA Dancing Hit x Zardin Firfod) were the champions scoring 71.890 points. The dark bay gelding received 6.8 for walk, 8 for trot, 7.5 for canter, 7.8 for submission and 8.2 for potential from the judges. Maren Knappe-Poindecker and Else Hasvold's Norwegian bred mare Skoglys Rihanna (by Royal Olymp x Dynamit) were the reserve champions with 69.605 points. The mare earned 7.3 for walk, 7.8 for trot, 7 for canter, 6.8 for submission and 7.5 for potential. Lucinda Groth and the Danish bred Oldenburg gelding Larry Hagman Firfod (by Angrib Firfod x Michellino) were third with 67.123%. This dark bay gelding got 7.5 for walk, 7.4 for trot, 6.8 for canter, 6.5 for submission and 7 for potential.
