Robin Bernoski has sold his internationally competed Grand Prix mare Jamaica to the U.S.A.

Jamaica is a 12-year old KWPN mare by Vivaldi out of So What (by Ferro x Purioso). She is bred by Van Heuvelen and Bernoski.

Jamaica

Jamaica was trained and produced to Grand Prix level by the Bernoski family.

Natascha Bernoski-De Cocq rode her as a young horse and tried qualifying her for the Dutch team for the 2019 World Young Horse Championships.

Jamaica only truly stepped into the spotlight with her international show debut when the mare was already 11 years old. Under Robin Bernoski she debuted at Grand Prix level at the 2025 Covalliero Dressage Days in Hagen to score 67,044% in her first international Grand Prix test. They went to Kronenberg in December and in 2026 showed at three CDI's: the Aachen Dressage Days, Rotterdam and Falsterbo on the Dutch team for the Nations Cup. Their Grand Prix score at the latter CDIO was 69,870%.   At the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix Championships the pair finished fifth.

Luersman Family

The former Dutch based American lawyer Paul Luersman was listed as co-owner in 2025.

His daughter Emma competed internationally on pony FS Dorian Gray (by FS Don't Worry x FS Cocky Dundee) from 2017 to 2019 before moving back to the U.S.A. to Atlanta. In 2024 she showed Jaristo (by Dream Boy x Nourejev) internationally in the small tour and in 2025 did one CDI at U25 level in Wellington. Emma's last national show was in September 2025.

In December 2025 Emma got her Bachelor's degree in Human Capital Management & Leadership at Miami University's Farmer School of Business.  Emma works as a Human Resources generalist at Control Southern, an industrial automation company.

In July 2026 she got engaged to her boyfriend Maddox Davis, whom she met in The Netherlands when the Davis family lived there over six years ago.

Sold to the U.S.A.

On 26 October Robin announced the departure of Jamaica to the U.S.A. but not to co-owner Luersman.

"With a heavy heart, we announce the sale of our darling Jamaica. After an amazing summer, with a lot of success and learning together, it’s now time to part ways," he said.

Jamaica has been bought by Leslie Malone of Harmony Sporthorses for Dutch born Luuk Mourits to ride. He trains under Harmony sponsored rider Michael Klimke.

"We are very happy she has found an amazing new home at Harmony Stables and a skilled and ambitious rider in Luuk Mourits," Robin explained. "We hope to see you have great success with Jamaica in the future."
