Andrina Suter and Del Curto No Longer a Combination

Swiss Grand Prix rider Andrina Suter and her number one in the barn, Del Curto, are no longer a combination. The liver chestnut moved out of Suter's barn.

Del Curto is a 13-year old Hanoverian gelding by Dimaggio out of Wajomi (by Wolkentanz II x ). He is bred by Hendrik Moos.

Del Curto arrived in Andrina's barn in 2018 and the pair made its national show debut two years later in 2020 when the horse was 7 years old.

Owned by Robert Schmidt, Del Curto made his international show debut in 2022 at small tour level at the CDI Ornago, followed by Aachen. The horse ended up second in the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals behind stable mate Briatore.

They moved to medium tour level in 2023 and to CDI Grand Prix level in 2024. That year Eva Senn-Widmer began making an ownership duo with Schmid, while in 2025 Schmid left the group and was replaced byy Monica Klaeger as co-owner. As of March 2025 a third party, Pius Weber, joined the group of owners according to the FEI. Andrina showed the gelding at two CDI's in 2024: Ornago and Leeuwareden.

In 2025 the pair competed at CDI's in Basel, Ornago, Stadl Paura, Mannheim, Lier, Wiesbaden, and Dielsdorf and were named reserve for the team for the European Championships in Crozet. At the 2025 Swiss Grand Prix Championships they were 6th overall. The CDI Troisdorf in October 2025 was their last international.

Combination No More

Del Curto was absent from the show scene since the autumn of 2025, recovering from an injury. The horse is back in training, but Suter confirmed that she no longer makes a combination with him.

Suter said he left her barn "completely out of the blue."

Andrina added, "I had the privilege of training you, watching you grow, and witnessing how this young, sometimes still somewhat unpolished horse became a true fighter and a great athlete. (...) The entire Suter stable is finding it especially hard to let you go. We were right in the middle of a rebuilding process that I’d been following with so much patience and care. I felt like we were on the right track—back into the sport."

Suter acknowledged that "Kurtli" has gotten a new rider but did not name the person.
