Marco Pundsack has been elected new chair of the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Association.

He was voted to the new position at the delegates’ meeting on Monday 3 August 3, 2026, where the delegates set the course for the association’s future.

After five years at the helm of the association since 2021, Dr. Wolfgang Schulze-Schleppinghoff steps down.  "During his tenure, numerous initiatives were launched and important decisions were made for the association’s future," said the OL society. "The board, delegates, and staff thanked him for his great personal commitment, his foresight, and his tireless dedication to Oldenburg horse breeding."

New Blood

Marco Pundsack, a long-standing and dedicated board member, will now take over as head of the association. He has been a member of the Oldenburg Horse Breeding Association’s board since 2017 and was elected Second Chairman following Dr. Wolfgang Schulze-Schleppinghoff’s election in 2021.

With Pundsack election as first shair, Clemens Graf von Merveldt will assume the position of Second Chairman. In doing so, the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Association is prioritizing continuity and close cooperation within the Executive Board.

The new board was further expanded with a new member, Merle von Wedel. The 1994 born Von Wedel  is a consultant at an international strategy consulting firm and has been a breeder since her youth.
