Just days before the 2026 World Championships for young dressage horses, the German team has undergone further changes. After DSP Valentin was withdrawn, the entry for 5-year old St. Anima has been cancelled.
Dressprod first reported the news as the withdrawal was revealed on the updated definite entry list.
St. Anima
St. Anima is a 2021 born Hanoverian mare by Secret out of Brilliante (by Benetton Dream x Florencio). She is bred by Siegfried Kusel.
Owned and ridden by professional Silvia Busch-Kuffner, St. Anima has only very limited show experience. She made her show debut at the end of April 2026 at the local show in Schwanewede, scoring 7.7 and then went to Haftenkamp to score 7,12. In Bulkau she earned an 8.3 score in the L-level test.
The mare was selected for the German team via the two selection trials in Warendorf in June. She will not going to Verden though. "Unfortunately, she was slightly injured," Busch-Kuffner told Eurodressage. "It’s nothing serious, but the risk of competing in Verden is too high. We’re now looking forward to the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf."
Reserve Called Up
The first reserve to substitute for any drop outs in the 5-year old division is Jana Marie Thamm aboard the Westfalian gelding Delight (by Diamond de Luxe x Flatley).
Delight is bred by Ursula and Ernst Prost and owned by Wolfgang Suttrup. He made his show debut with Thamm in August 2025 at A-level and did five shows this year at L-level. Their high score being 8.4 achieved in February in Fröndenberg.
