German sport journalist Eva Simeoni has passed away. She was 58 years old. Simeoni died by suicide as an illness no longer made her life humane.
Born in 1958 in Stuttgart, Simeoni began her career as a sport journalist by becoming an intern with the newspaper Stuttgarter Zeiting. As of 21981 she began working for Germany's leading newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).
In 2006 she became the deputy head of department and as of 2011 became their sports reporter, coviring Olympics, World Championships until 2022. She was known for her research work into international sports politics, doping, and equestrian sports.
She authored Isabell Werth's biography "Four legs move my soul" and "What kind of person is my horse."
