At a special press conference held in Brussels on 27 July 2026 the Belgian Equestrian Federation (KBRSF) announced all its teams for the 2026 World Championships in Aachen on 11 - 20 August 2026.
Belgium is fielding teams in six disciplines: dressage, eventing, show jumping, vaulting, driving and para dressage. The Belgian team riders are called "Red Musketeers" as Belgium's soccer team players are known as the "Red devils."
Twenty years after the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, where Belgian Jos Lansink became show jumping world champion on Cumano and Felix Brasseur driving world champion, hopes are high for Belgium to win team and individual medals again.
The Belgian dressage team includes
- Justin Verboomen - Zonik Plus
- Larissa Pauluis - Flambeau
- Wim Verwimp - Jedai de Massa
- Jeroen Devroe - Lestor
The non-travelling reserve is Tommie Visser on Karma Begijnhoeve.
The Belgian dressage team travels to Aachen with high hopes as Justin Verboomen is the reigning European champion and has remained undefeated the entire 2026 show season, while facing rivals Isabell Werth and Charlotte Fry. The only head-to-head with rival Cathrine Dufour (at the CDI Frankfurt in December 2025) Verboomen won.
The Belgian para dressage team includes:
- Barbara Minneci – Freiherr von Nymphenburg, Grade III
- Kevin Van Ham – Eros van Ons Heem, Grade V
- Francesca Vanhoeck – Fastlane van ’t Beekhof, Grade V
- Emma Vercammen – Odin, Grade III
The non-travelling reserve is Charlotte Couckuyt (Grade IV) with Picador van het Leiedal.
