According to internal reports the Chinese equestrian federation has apparently named to riders to the team that will represent China at the 2026 Asian Games in dressage.
The 2026 Asian Games take place at the Baji Koen equestrian center in Tokyo, Japan, on 24 - 27 September 2026.
No official press release has been posted, but the four names on the team that have been circulating are
- Yue Wu - Iggy Pop BEK or Jacky Kennedy DVB
- Zhanzhao Gu - Shakespeare or Fashion Prinz
- Jiayi Yu - Jackpoint
- Sarah Rao - Geniaal
The reserve rider is Zinan Liu (on Donato).
They have all been competing two horses this season in Europe. Rao confirmed her choice is Geniaal, while Yu has achieved the highest marks on Jackpoint.
In 2023 the Chinese dressage team won silver at the Asian Games on home turf in in Hangzhou. They are now sending a new team of four in pursuit of medal glory.
