Former Dutch team rider Diederik van Silfhout has sold his rising Grand Prix ride, Dante U.S., to the United States.
Dante U.S. is a 10-year old Oldenburg bred gelding by Dante Weltino out of Sondra (by Sir Donnerhall x Don Schufro). He is bred by Paul Schockemöhle at Gestut Lewitz.
From Germany to Holland
Co-owned by the breeder and Dutch stallion keeper Joop van uytert, the black stallion is a half brother to licensed stallion Total U.S. and Zaid as well as Dutch team horse Zantana.
In 2020 Dante US came up for stud at Van Uytert in The Netherlands, licensed with the AES studbook. He was first trained by Renate van Uytert-van Vliet before Renate's coach Diederik van Silfhout took over the ride in 2021.
He was gelded to be focused on sport. He sired 126 offspring registered with the KWPN studbook.

In 2022 the pair competed at national ZZ-level, while in 2023 they moved to small tour level and finished fifth at the Dutch Small Tour Championships. Their first international show was in Exloo in May 2023, where they finished 8th in the Prix St Georges and second in the Inter I. They were eliminated from the Kur. A month later they rode at the CDI Geesteren, where they were second in the PSG and won the Inter I kur with 78.475%.
The pair made the leap to Grand Prix level in 2024 when Dante US was 8 years old. They did their first Inter II tests in February 2024 and their GP debut was in the early spring. In May 2024 they did their first international at Grand Prix level and posted 68.152% in the Pp and 67.723% in the Special. They were long-listed for Dutch Olympic team selection.
A year break from international showing followed and they returned in Exloo in 2025 (63.674% in the Grand Prix). In October they went to the CDI Leeuwarden, where they were fifth in the GP (68.500%). Half a year later they did their first and only CDI of 2026 in Tolbert and got 66.717% in the GP. They did not compete at the Dutch Championships, but Diederik won the small tour on his new rising star New Orleans.
