Retirement

Scholz announced Tarantino's official retirement from sport a week ago on social media.

"After unforgettable successes and moments we will cherish forever, a new chapter begins for our Tarantino," Scholz announced.  "Tobi" is retiring from international competition and can now enjoy his well-deserved retirement. He will be moving to a pasture very close to us, where he can spend his retirement with plenty of space to roam, and where we, as a family, can visit him anytime. We couldn't wish for a more beautiful home for this new chapter of his life."

For Carina "Tobi" was her break-through horse.

"He was never just a sport horse. He was a teacher, a teammate, a fighter, and a member of the family," she said. "Together, we walked a path from his first Grand Prix through 5* placings and multiple Nations Cup victories to the Olympic squad for Tokyo."

Carina's husband Fabian added, "For the past ten years, they have grown together, from their first competitions all the way to Grand Prix level. It wasn’t always a straight path, but that’s exactly what made the journey so special. Tarantino taught them that success takes patience, trust and consistency. Sometimes you move forward, sometimes you take a step back, but if you believe in the process and keep going, the hard work will pay off."
