Thailand will be writing history at the 2026 World Championships Dressage in Aachen, Germany, as for the very first time the developing dressage nation will be sending a team to compete at the WEG.

The role of horses in Thailand developed from warfare, royal ceremonies, transportation, and agriculture into a modern sport equivalent through military institutions and contact with European riding traditions in the 20th century. A major milestone was the establishment of the Equestrian Association of Thailand, which became responsible for governing equestrian disciplines including.

Only as of the 2000s Thailand began to make its way into high performance sport through the South East Asian Games, Asian Games and FEI World Challenge events.  Royal patronage has helped promote riding sports and encouraged investment in equestrian facilities and athlete development.

While Thailand has competed at several Asian Games at small tour level, the 2026 World Championships in Aachen will be the very first major inter-continental championships in which Thailand has a presence at Grand prix level.

The Thai dressage team includes:

  • Pakjira Thongpakdi  - Definitely
  • Suphakamol Vuntanadit  - Dreamboat BCN
  • Suphajit Vuntanadit  - Wall Street JV
