The 2026 CDIO Hagen at Hof Kasselmann on 2 - 5 July 2026 delivered four days of top-level sport, more than 130 riders on over 150 horses from 29 nations.

Eurodressage was on the scene to cover the FEI Nations Cup but also photographed all other CDI classes, including the 3* and 4* big tour and 1* small tour. On Saturday we popped over the second ring in the garden, where the para classes were being held. We photographed the entire Grade III Grand Prix test to build our archive.

Here are the photos that captured our interest and atmosphere at this lovely competition hosted by the Kasselmann family.

Reigning US Grand Prix champiopn Ellesse Gundersen on her home bred Quintessential. The spicy chestnut, who was mainly competed in a safe environment in Ocala this season, struggled with the atmosphere in Hagen but showed plenty of promise in several movements.

Ellesse Gundersen trains with Ali Brock but her friend Caroline Roffman is often eyes on the ground. Roffman also tried for the U.S. team 12 years ago in 2014 (aboard Her Highness O).

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw former Belgian Grand Prix rider Vicky Smits in Hagen. She was Belgian's trailblazer of light, harmonious riding on Daianira van de Helle until 2012. She quit CDI sport all together when the owners tried selling her horse. Nationally she rode until 2019. She now trains a para rider

Former triple Swiss Olympian Daniel Ramseier who is now a horse dealer in Germany

Charlott Maria Schurmann won the small tour aboard the Jöbstl family's newly acquired Mr Lova Lova. The Austrian family also bought Simsalabim at Schurmann's. The now 14-year old mare hasn't shown internationally since June 2024.
