The chestnut colt Vita d'Or became the best selling foal in the Oldenburg Elite Foal auction held at the 2026 CDIO Hagen on Friday evening 3 July 2026.

A collection of 11 dressage bred foals was on offer.  With a sales rate of over 90 percent, an average price of around 18,600 euro, and total sales of 204,500 euros, the auction made a strong statement.

The top price was achieved by catalog number 2, Vita d’Or, born May 17, 2026, by Vjento out of Elite/OLHPrSt. Weihvita (by El.H. Vitalis x For Romance I x Don Schufro). He is bred by Christine Arns-Krogmann. The highly acclaimed stallion prospect is moving to a stallion breeder in Bavaria for 37,000 euro.

Vita d’Or combines exceptional genetics with one of the world’s most distinguished dressage performance lines. His sire, Vjento—a son of Valdiviani—is linked to the internationally highly successful Weissena line. His dam, Weihvita, is a sister to three licensed stallions, including Viva Gold OLD, who has celebrated Grand Prix successes under Isabell Werth, as well as Leclerc by Lord Europe. In the third generation, the pedigree features Weihegold OLD, an Olympic champion and multiple European champion—one of the most successful dressage mares in recent history. This exceptional family has produced, among others, the licensed Grand Prix and Olympic stallion Total Hope OLD, as well as numerous other top international competition horses.

The strong interest from the active dressage community was particularly encouraging: Numerous foals were purchased at auction directly by riders and competition participants. In addition, the international clientele underscored the appeal of the collection. One foal will grow up in the United Arab Emirates, while another is headed to the United States.
