Blue Hors stud has rehired Danish Under 25 rider Sophia Ludvigsen as their in-house rider of the dressage horses at the facility in Martofte.

Sophie Ludvigsen

Ludwvigsen began riding for the Kirk Kristiansen family at Blue Hors in Randbol in 2020, first as a young rider and moving up the levels to Under 25 and Grand Prix under the supervision of Nanna Skodborg Merrald, who was recently let go of.

In the autumn of 2025 Sophia had an accident which left her pelvic fractured. She stayed close-lipped about the incident and only mentioned it on social media months later in January 2026, when she had returned back to the saddle on Blue Hors Zepter.

At the start of May,  Blue Hors let go of Ludvigsen who began seeking a new position elsewhere.

Rehired

On 30 June 2026 Blue Hors announced that they welcomed Sophia Ludvigsen back.

"She will start on July 6th and will be responsible for the daily training and development of the stud's dressage horses. Sophia has previously been employed at Stutteri Ask-Blue Hors and therefore brings a good knowledge of both the horses and the daily workflow. In addition, Sophia is an experienced rider and a promising name within Danish dressage sport."

Blue Hors also hired a second rider, the experienced Allan Grøn.

"Grøn will be associated with Stutteri Ask-Blue Hors, where he will come weekly and help with the training and development of the young horses," the stud farm stated.

Grøn is no newcomer to Blue Hors either. He worked a stable jockey there as of 2011 and competed Zick Flower for them at the 2013 and 2014 World Young Horse Championships. In 2016 Allan and his wife, Astrid Therkelsen Grøn, took over the Davinde Ridecenter near Odense. Since 2018 he has fully independent and focusing more on training of horses and students than competition. Grøn trained horses for Blue Hors such as Zatchmo, Wasabi OLD, and St. Schufro.
