Breeding Stallion For Ferrero VDB Moves to Luxembourg

KWPN licensed breeding stallion For Ferrero has moved to Luxembourg, where he will continue his sport career under Luxembourg Olympian Fie Christine Skarsoe.

For Ferrero is a 12-year old Hanoverian stallion by For Romance out of Dubai Millennium (by Don Crusador x Wolkenstein II

Belgian Bred, KWPN Licensed

The stallion was bred by Els Cooremans at Stable De Biebosschen in Belgium.

Owned by the Dutch stallion keeper Peter van de Sande and Gunther Nelis, he was licensed at the 2017 KWPN Stallion Licensing competing with the name Ferrero VDB. The black first came in the spotlight when he won the 2017 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance Test. He scored 85 points. He was later approved for NRPS, Oldenburg, Hanover and Belgian warmblood.

He was popular in the Netherlands as a breeding stallion. He has sired no less than 806 KWPN registered foals of which 2 are licensed sons (Nirvano, Powerbank) and 18 daughters have elite status. He has five more licensed sons with other studbooks (Osborne, Pokerface, For Roubaix ter Selle, Nescio, and Special Me HH), according to Horsetelex.

Sport Career

As a young stallion he competed on the KWPN stallion competition circuit under Kim Koolen. They finished 6th in the 2019 Pavo Cup Finals in the 5-year old division. Koolen produced him to small tour level.

More recently Lina Uzunhasan took over the ride and showed him up to Grand Prix level in The Netherlands. For Ferrero never competed internationally.

Luxembourg

Two weeks ago the 12-year old stallion moved to Fie Skarsoe's First Choice Stable in Luxembourg.

"The owners decided that’s it’s time for him to go more into the sport," Fie told Eurodressage. "Luckily for me, we met and I tried him and we had the click immediately! So now he is in Luxembourg with me."

Fie will first get more acquainted with the stallion before drafting concrete show plans.

"I really enjoy working with him and getting to know him better every day," she said. "Our plan is to take time to get to know each other and then go into the arena when we are ready for it and see what the future will bring."
