Dow Jones ia 2009 born gelding by Desperados out of Enya (by Ehrenwort x Rubinstein). He is bred by Wlfried Otten.
Christophe Palabe
Dow Jones' competition career began in Germany in 2012 when the horse was three. He was first competed by Jasmin Nottberg and then sold to U.S base wealth manager Christophe Palabe.
Palabe debuted the horse in the USA at trainng level in in May 2013. They finished 11th in the 5-year old finals test at the 2014 U.S Young Horse Championships.
Palabe took the horse up the levels, hitting small tour in 2017 and riding their first Intermediaire II tests in 2020. They won the USDF Region 2 Championship at Inter II level that year. Their first full year at Grand Prix level was in 2021 and steadily continued at that level through the years.
Sarah Tubman

With Sarah's number one First Apple taking a seriously slower pace in his competition life after July 2025 (he did one Test of Choice test at the start of February 2026 (71.359%)), Sarah began competing Dow Jones more intensively; first at a string of national shows before their CDI debut at Myakka City in April, where they posted 67.152% in the Grand Prix. Three weeks later at the CDI Ocala they got 66.283% and another week later scored 68.783% for 2nd place at Myakka City again. At the 2026 U.S Grand Prix Championships, which served as a WEG team selection trial, they were 9th overall with 66.959%.
Schoolmaster
Tubman announced that Dow Jones has now sold as a schoolmaster for a client of Lauren Sammis.
Sammis recently returned to the national show scene with a new future hope, Marie Braverman-Kohles’s Ferero Rocher.

Tubman is currently training in the U.K. with Kyra Kyrklund and Richard White. Her Grand Prix hopes for the future are Zack Zack Dree Boeken (by Zack x Gribaldi) as well as Barton VDL (by Bordeaux x Sir Donnerhall) and Gorklintgards Smarties (by Gorklintgaards Santos x Michellino), which she showed in the developing GP horse classes in Wellington this winter.
