German team riders Ingrid Klimke and Vayron have officially pulled out of team contention for the 2026 World Championships Dressage on home turf in Aachen, Germany, 11 - 15 August 2026.

After missing out on the German Championships in Balve due to an injury, Rudolf Spiekermann's Westfalian stallion Vayron (by Vitalis x Gloster) will not be fit on time to compete in the second German team qualifier at the CDIO Hagen on 2 - 5 July 2026.

The pair was member of the gold medal winning German team at the 2025 European Championships in Crozet and took a strong start of the season at the CDI Hagen where they posted 75% scores. However, they missed out on the first (Balve) of two mandatory team qualifiers.

The German equestrian federation confirmed that the 15-year old stallion "is not fit" and added that "Ingrid Klimke's dream of participating in the World Championships has been shattered."

Last weekend Ingrid competed two horses i the CDCI 3* Vittel in France. She made no official statement herself on her withdrawal of Vayron.
