Following the German Championships the German equestrian federation announced the team that will represent Germany in the FEI Nations Cup at the CDIO Hagen on 2 - 7 July 2026.

Team for WEG Taking Shape

Hagen will host three Grand Prix tours: the CDIO tour, a 4* and 3* Grand Prix tour. Several countries use this show as a team selection trial for the World Championships. For Germany Hagen will be the decisive show after which the team will be announced.

Riding for Germany in the Hagen Nations Cup are:

  • Semmieke Rothenberger - Farrington
  • Charlott-Maria Schürmann - Dante’s Pearl OLD
  • Frederic Wandres - Bluetooth OLD
  • Isabell Werth - Wendy (Reserve: Viva Gold OLD)
    • Reserve: Raphael Netz - Great Escape Camelot
Vayron and Denoix?

The team fielded for the CDIO tour is usually the one Germany goes for definitively. This year Crozet team riders Ingrid Klimke (Vayron) and Katharine Hemmer (Denoix) both missed the German Championships due to injury, the first team selection trial.

At this point it is not yet know if they are fully ruled out from team selection or whether these two horses will prove their scoring ability and fitness in Hagen in the 4* tour and still claim a spot on the German team.

Perspective Squad

The German federation also announced that four new riders have been submitted to the Grand Prix B-sqyad (Perspective squad). They are Jesica von Bredow-Werndl (Times Kismet),  Tobias Nabben (Forster), Benjamin Werndl (Quick Decision), and Svenja Kämper-Meyer (Amanyara M).
