2026 Danish Dressage Championships

Junior rider Malina Bøgh Skovsager, young rider Michella Skovsager, Under 25 rider Sophia Boje Obel Jørgensen and senior Grand Prix rider Carina Cassoe Kruth became the winners of the 2026 Danish Dressage Championships held at the old Blue hors facility in Randbol on 28 - 31 May 2026.

Seniors: Kruth Picks Up the Title

In the absence of Cathrine Dufour on Mount St. John Freestyle, the field was wide open for Danish seasoned team riders to claim a spot on the podium.

Carina Cassoe Kruth and her 2021 Tokyo Olympic mount Heiline's Dancier, a 15-year old Danish warmblood mare by Furstenball x De Niro, landed on the gold medal step after winning the Grand Prix with 75.909% as well as the freestyle with 80.75%. This is Kruth's first title.

Her biggest challenger was Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Sofia Ek's 12-year old Flash Gordon (by Fiderbach x Don Romantic). They were second in the Grand Prix with 75.576% and well on their way of scoring an 80% freestyle, but got eliminated from the kur when blood was spotted on the horse's mouth.

This created space for Anna Zibrandtsen to pilot her 15-year old Oldenburg Quel Filou (by Quterback x Stedinger) to the silver medal position after scoring 73.424% and 76.35%. Bronze was for Crozet team rider Nadja Aaboe Sloth on her 13-year old Danish bred Favour Gersdorf (by Foundation x Leandro) with 73.621% and 75.80%.

Finishing just off the podium was Lone Bang Zindorff who made her long-awaited come back on the 16-year old Thranegaardes Ristiv (by Romanov). The pair last competed in October 2024 after which a long competition break for the horse followed until their come back directly at the Nationals.

Under 25: Home Turf Win for Obel

Long-time Swedish youth team rider Sophie Obel Jorgensen scored a victory on home turf in Randbol, as her parents rent the Randbøl Dressage Academy where the Championships were held from Blue Hors' owner Kjell Kirk Kriastensen. She claimed the Under 25 title aboard the 14-year old Foldagers Chablis (by Romanov x Idocus) with 71.483% and 75.60%. Sophie is a student of Dennis Fisker.

Obel had Sara Aagaard Hyrm on the 12-year old Atterupgaards Cooper (by Charmeur x Gribaldi) right on her heels with very tight scores of 71.25% and 75.425%. The bronze was for Ida Kristine Bjørn on her 13-year old stallion Hotson (by Hotline x Zack). She posted 69.217% and 71.00%. This was the second bronze in a row for Bjørn, but last year she rode Hussmanns Jackson to the medal, while with Hotson she landed 16th place.
