Dango Rubin became the best selling horse of the 2026 Marbach Spring Auction on 4 May 2026.
The Marbach State Stud and the Baden-Württemberg Horse Breeders’ Association joined forces to organise an auction for riding horses and ponies. The ‘buy now’ option, offered for the first time, was utilised for three horses, including the top-priced Dango Rubin.
The 6-year-old Dango Rubin (by Danone x Goldberg), bred by Hendrik Niehe, sold for €43,000 to a family from Baden-Württemberg with a passion for dressage.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old Toscana (by Topas x Daramis) which sold for 18,000 €. Bella Donna (by Be Sure x Floriscount) sold for 17,000 euro.
The 3-year old Dottore Gratiano (by Doctor Blue x Stanton) fetched 16,750 euro while Zadek (by Senetti x Sirtaki) went for 16,000 euro.
The 21 young horses offered generated an average price of €14,618 euro. The sole pony, Donegal (by Dublin x Top Champion) sold for €9,000.
