EQ Secret Suprise, a Danish team horse at the 2025 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, has been sold to Germany.

EQ Secret Suprise is an 8-year old Danish warmblood by Secret out of Midt-West Kenya (by Gribaldi x Don Schufro). He is bred by Ssuanne Oldenborg.  His name has been officially spelled suprise (sic).

Susanne Barnow

Owned by the breeder, Secret Suprise comes out of a proven dam line which produced Grand Prix horse Midt-West Dacapo (by Davignon - ridden by Jim Rasmussen) and the renowned breeding stallion Midt-West Ibi Light (by Ibikus).

Secret Suprise was first competed by Oldenborg herself, making their debut in February 2023. She qualified him for the Danish Young Horse Championships but at these nationals it was professional Susanne Barnow who rode him to a bronze medal in the 4-year old division.

A year later Barnow claimed silver at the 2024 Danish Young Horse Championships, while in 2025 he first went for Denmark to the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he finished 12th in the 7-year old consolation finals. At the 2025 Danish Young Horse Championships the pair was back to bronze

The pair's last show was a national PSG test in February 2026, winning it with 73.091%.

EQ Secret Suprise has now been sold to Ralf Stossel for his daughter Mai to ride.

The 19-year old Mai is yet to make her international show debut but has much national show experienced. Currently trained by Laura Pröpper, Mai began her show career at FEI pony level with Crown Wishing Well (by FS Don't Worry x Campari) and Vanilla (by Voyager x Dressboy). In 2022 she has been showing in the Children division and at national L-level with the Hanoverian mare Ester (by Embassy x Contendro).

In 2023 the Stossel family bought Wild Card at Cathrine Dufour's stable, but Mai's main competition ride as a junior and young rider has been Ester. In 2024 Amazing Grace (by St. Schufro x Krack C) joined her string. She has shown both horses nationally through April 2026.
