The premiere of the Ising Open Sales proved a great success: a high-quality collection, strong international interest and a committed clientele shaped the auction evening on Saturday, 18 April, at Gut Ising on Lake Chiemsee.
The 28 dressage and showjumping horses achieved a total turnover of €3,322,000. Buyers from Europe, the United States, Asia and South Africa secured their favourites, with bidding taking place both on site and online.
Top Sellers
The top price was achieved by the six-year-old dressage mare Venedig (by V-Plus x Scolari), who sold for €400,000. Breeder Ingo Pape had already highlighted her exceptional quality in advance: “Venedig is truly outstanding in the complexity of all her qualities.” The dark bay Westphalian impressed with her natural talent for collection, expression and charm – traits she inherits from her Grand Prix-successful sire V-Plus, himself a top-priced horse at the 2018 P.S.I. Auction.
Among the showjumpers, Dia Lady PS (by Diaron x Chacoon Blue) led the field. The powerful Oldenburg mare from an internationally proven dam line was sold for €225,000 to Ireland.
Four horses sold for 100,000 euro or more. The 8-year old Venido (by Veneziano x Sir Donnerhall) found a new owner for 201,000 euro

Day Dream (by Don Juan de Hus x Secret) sold for 88,000 euro and Voulez Vous (by Vitalis x Franklin) for 80,000 euro, and Die Da (by Donier x Furstenball) for 65,000 euro.
Furstin Fomara (by Furst Jazz x Fursten-Look) fetched 55,000 euro, Tik Tok (by Tauris x Belantis) went for 45,000 euro, Mbappe (by Monte Carlo x Finest) for 40,000 euro. The 5-year old Viva la Donna (by Valverde x Sir Donnerhall) sold for 35,000 euro, Dance for Me (by Donier x Zalando) for 34,000 euro. Deja Vu (by Despacito x Scolari) had a hammer price of 33,000 euro.
A Strong Debut Built on Experience and Partnership
The auction is the result of a collaboration between Paul Schockemöhle, Hof Kasselmann, Gugler Sport Horses and Ingo Pape. For Gut Ising, the event marked a significant premiere, as no auction of this scale had previously been held at the venue. The experienced teams of Schockemöhle Stables and Hof Kasselmann played a leading role in the organisation, contributing their extensive expertise from numerous international event auctions.

Francois Kasselmann also drew a very positive conclusion: “We are very satisfied with this premiere. The quality of the collection was confirmed by the market, and the international interest shows that we have taken the right approach with this format. Our goal was to create a sport-oriented offering with real perspective – and that is exactly what we have seen.”
Sales advisor Michael Holtgers added: “We truly hit the mark with this event. It was two thoroughly successful evenings – ‘The Old Masters’ on Friday and the auction on Saturday.”
With a satisfied clientele and four committed partners, the evening at Gut Ising concluded on a high note – setting a strong foundation for the future of the Ising Open Sales.
