Sony, Best Seller of the 2026 Hanoverian Spring Auction

The chestnut Sony became the best selling horse in the auction collection of the 2026 Hanoverian Spring Edition auction for which the bidding concluded on 18 April 2026

A collection of 48 dressage and show jumping horses was offered for sale.

The shining star of the mixed collection was Sony (by Secret x Quaterback - pictured), who found a new owner for 80,000 euro. The 4-year old bred at Hof Brüning, sold to a local dressage rider. 

The second most expensive horse in the lot was Enrico Caruso, a 4-year old by Emilio Sanchez x Londonderry which sold for 72,000 euro to Switzerland. The bay is the 80th horse which breeders  Ursula and Gerd Lühr offer in the Verden auction.

The 5-year old So Special JES (by So Perfect x Fashion Maker) had a hammer price of 60,000 euro, while the 5-year old Floris (by For Romance x Scolari) sold for 42,000 euro. 

Semenya N (by Secret x Belissimo M) had the highest bidding price of 40,000 euro, while Gutenberg DE (by Global Player x Dancier) went for 35,000 euro.

Finnish buyers secured Famous Annabell (by Franz Joseph Junior x Don Frederico) for 22,500 euro, while Brits got Friedrichson (by Friedrich der Grosse x Don Vino) for 9,500 euro. Spaniards bought Dancito (by Despacito x Franzisko) for a steal for 8,000 euro.

The average price for a horse in this auction was 19,750 euro.
