The Egyptian Equestrian Federation has taken the lead on hosting the dressage  and show jumping at the 2027 African Summer Games in Cairo.

The FEI board officially approved the inclusion of team and individual competitions in dressage and show jumping in the program of the 2027 African Games to be hosted by Egypt.

"The inclusion of dressage marks a historic milestone as it feature for the first time in the history of the African Games, reflecting the significant development of equestrian sport across the continent and the growing commitment to expanding its disciplines," the Egyptian equestrian federation stated.

The Egyptian NF added, "the federation also warmly welcomes Africa's top riders to compete on Egyptian soil, in spirit of sportsmanship and excellence that reflects the true values of the sport."

Under the auspices of the FEI and the African Confederation of Equestrian Sport (ACES) these continental games will take place in Cairo, Egypt, on 20 January - 7 February 2027.

"The 2027 African Games will be a huge step forward for the sport across the continent," ACES communicated. "Get ready to witness incredible talent, rising stars, and unforgettable performances as riders and horses take centre stage."

ANOCA, the National Olympic Committees of Africa, ANOCA,  will be responsible for harmonising the operation, organisation and management of the African Games between the parties and the relevant NOCs.

The 2027 African Games will be held for the 14th time and for the second time in Egypt, as it also hosted the 1991 Games.
